Ice dams and frozen pipes
The two calls that come in every January. Heat tape, insulation gaps, a pipe on an outside wall that should never have been run there, and the ceiling stain underneath once it thaws.
Repairs, sheetrock, painting and deep cleaning across Montpelier. Including work that is still coming out of the 2023 flood.
Montpelier is the smallest state capital in the country and it is built like a village, which means dense older wood frame housing downtown and climbing the hills either side. Narrow lots, shared walls in places, and a lot of original material still in service.
The July 2023 flood is still part of the picture here. Water through a ground floor leaves work that surfaces long afterwards: sheetrock that was cut out and never properly finished, trim that was replaced in a hurry, paint that went on over damp, and spaces that never got a deep clean once things dried out. If that describes a room in your building, it is fixable.
Outside of that it is ordinary Montpelier work. Plaster and sheetrock repair, interior painting, carpentry, and cleaning for homes and small commercial spaces downtown.
It is a drive from Burlington, so Montpelier jobs get grouped. Worth asking about timing when you call.

Frost heave on steps and walks, a storm door that no longer shuts, water stains to trace and seal, and the deep clean once the sand and salt stop coming through the door.
Vermont gives you a short window for anything outside. Decks, siding, exterior paint, carpentry and the bigger repairs all get booked into it, so earlier is better.
Gutters, draft sealing, storm windows, loose boards and the repairs you do not want to be making in February. Cheaper now than after the first thaw.
We also cover Northfield, Randolph, Barre and Berlin.
Send a photo of the job and Zach will come back with a real number. Estimates are free.
